Operation Brimstone (2014), Back Scratcher

Situation

Background Information
An Expeditionary Platoon of UNITAF is to deploy in the Mountaineous region North of Kinduf and conduct RECCE, take out any of the reported AA positions and establish a sustainable scouting position.

Friendly Forces
1 Reconnaisance Squad -Assisted by 1x IDF Team with attached Sniper unit.

Supporting Assets
Russian Ground Forces are positioned to the E of AO, they are not to be confronted and are considered Allies.

Enemy Forces
ISIS has established multiple AA positions in the area and has known Mechanised force which are likely to act as QRF

Mission

Tasking
-Disable or capture enemy AA Positions and Equipment -scout the surrounding area -establish a sustainable Recon Camp

End-state
ENDEX at established Recon Camp

Execution

Commander's Intent
The intent for this mission is to secure the hills to the north of Afsher so that when the liberation of Afsher starts they will not be attacked from the north. If we encounter Russians from the East, they are counted as friendlies however if it comes to it, we will not engage and we will only return fire if fired apon.

Tasks and Sequencing
We will get airlifted from Kalae Noowi Airfield in multiple runs due to the buggy's being ferried in, when we are all on the ground, Juliet 1 & 2 will separate going down they're own routes and clearing Phase 1. During this time ZULU will move onto hilltop 129 and setup & Lima will move into a good position where they can provide accurate cover and call in Fire support. When Phase 1 is clear Juliet 1 will then continue into sector 2 with Juliet 2 providing overwatch from OP1, once all the AA emplacements and camps are clear Juliet 1 will then prepare for an attack on the fortified hill. During the time that Juliet 1 is moving through phase 2, Lima & ZULU will start hammering any targets that are of threat including the nearby checkpoint and they will then start bombarding the fortified hill. After the bombardment from ZULU is complete, Juliet 1 will move up the hill and start securing it while Juliet 2 covers them. Once the hill is secure, time being the key factor we may move closer to Afsher so that we can clear out any last strongpoints ISIS have in that AO. Endex will be at a established recon camp.
