Situation

Invasion of Iraq. 4th Infantry division has been sent in behind the United States Marine Corps to sustain the presence. All USMC forces have pulled out of the area of operations and left insurgents to retake captured land. Sharpshooter located in the northern villages. Foothold must be established before travel to the northern villages.


Friendly Forces
The friendly unit is a small US Army rifle squad. Vehicles: - [2x] M1025 (M2) - [1x] M1025 (Unarmed)

Supporting Assets
You are the first line defense and tip of the spear.

Enemy Forces
Insurgent cells are operating within the AO and control majority of the nearby villages. Insurgents have forced out all civilians who are unwilling to join arms. All hostiles will be easily noticeable. They have ZERO IED capability.


Mission

Tasking
Direct Tasking Clear assigned villages and remove threats to allow freedom of movement within the sector. 1-Up Intent Eliminate enemy activity within the AO and establish conditions for sustained security operations. 2-Up Intent Establish security and freedom of movement throughout the brigade area of operations following the withdrawal of Marine forces.

End-state
-Villages are freed from insurgent activity -Sniper threat dealt with -Sustainment can continue without disruption Mission Failures -Group up and return to FOB


Execution

Commander's Intent
To CLEAR the Shukurkalay Valley of insurgent forces and DESTROY the sharpshooter threat in the surrounding area to ensure freedom of movement and enable sustainment operations across the AO.

Tasks and Sequencing
For the purposes of the map: - Blue sectors are to be cleared by KNIGHT 1-1 - Red sectors are to be cleared by KNIGHT 1-2 OBJ ROOK - KNIGHT 1 UAS will launch from the STARTEX location and provide observations - KNIGHT 1-1 & KNIGHT 1-2 move dismounted from the STARTEX Location and will clear through their assigned sectors with KNIGHT 1-1 acting as a blocking force at BOF Wraith. OBJ ROOK and OBJ BISHOP - KNIGHT 1 UAS will launch from the STARTEX location and provide observations, they will then move with the remainder of KNIGHT 1 - KNIGHT 1-1 & KNIGHT 1-2 move dismounted from the STARTEX Location and will clear through their assigned sectors moving tactically in the open ground between objectives. KNIGHT 1-1 acting as a blocking force at BOF Wraith while KNIGHT 1-2 clear the larger area. OBJ KNIGHT - ALL CALLSIGNS will move tactically using the marked axis to the BoF Shadow location. - KNIGHT 1 UAS will launch from the BoF Shadow location and provide observations, they will then move with the remainder of KNIGHT 1 - KNIGHT 1-2 will provide cover for KNIGHT 1-1 as they move to the Alpha 3 sector. KNIGHT 1-2 will then move from the BoF to Alpha 3 then move to clear Bravo 3 and Bravo 4 before setting a Blocking position at BoF Ghost while KNIGHT 1-1 clear through sectors Alpha 3,4,5,6 &7. - KNIGHT 1-2 will then move to BoF Spirit and cover KNIGHT 1-1 as they advance on Alpha 8. - Following the action at KNIGHT, the reserve squad will bring forward the KNIGHT 1 vehicles to allow for resupply and movement to further objectives. OBJ QUEEN - From OBJ KNIGHT, ALL CALLSIGNS will move mounted to OBJ QUEEN. The tactical situation will determine the dismount location. - From the Dismount location, KNIGHT 1-1 & KNIGHT 1-2 will clear their respective sectors and set up at their respective BoF locations. - KNIGHT 1 UAS will provide observations throughout and will collocate with KNIGHT 1-2 at BoF Revenant when able. - KNIGHT 1 will bring up the vehicles at the rear. OBJ KING - From OBJ QUEEN, KNIGHT 1-1 will lead the other callsigns through the marked Axis which will have been Recce'd by KNIGHT 1 UAS. - ALL CALLSIGNS will RV at BoF Poltergiest where the tactical situation will determine how the sectors are approached. One of the main efforts of this operation is to eliminate the sharpshooter threat in the AO, any Sharpshooters should be reported to KNIGHT 1 without delay.
