--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationUNITAF forces have re-established a foothold inside the Lythium Valley following the successful re-entry of coalition elements into the area. Patrol bases and forward operating sites are now being established, and ground operations are underway to disrupt Taliban control and reassert coalition presence. Despite this, Taliban forces retain influence and freedom of movement in the surrounding high ground. From these mountainous positions, they have emplaced multiple anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) sites that continue to threaten coalition aviation supporting patrols, resupply, and raid operations within the valley. This mission is part of the ongoing effort to expand coalition control beyond the valley floor by clearing enemy positions in the surrounding terrain, degrading Taliban combat power, and reducing their ability to contest coalition operations.

Supporting Assets
Coalition air assets remain on call to support fires if required but will maintain distance until AAA is destroyed. Additional UNITAF ground forces are operating on the valley floor but will not manoeuvre into the mountain AO unless directed. ISR coverage is limited due to terrain and weather effects.
Enemy Forces
Taliban forces remain well-equipped, aggressive, and familiar with the terrain. AAA sites are assessed to be crew-served weapon systems supported by local security elements, observation posts, and fallback positions in complex terrain. Enemy Most Likely COA Enemy forces will maintain manned AAA positions supported by local security elements and observation posts. Upon detecting coalition movement or air activity, enemy fighters will attempt to fix patrols with small arms and machine-gun fire from prepared positions while AAA crews continue limited engagement against aircraft. Once pressured, enemy forces will manoeuvre between fighting positions along the ridgelines, using the terrain to delay and harass coalition action while avoiding becoming decisively engaged. Enemy Most Dangerous COA Enemy forces conduct coordinated ambushes along infiltration and exfiltration routes, attempt to fix patrols in restrictive terrain, and call for reinforcements from nearby villages or cave networks.
Mission
TaskingUNITAF elements will locate, fix, and destroy three Taliban AAA positions in the mountainous terrain overlooking the Lythium Valley in order to reduce threats to coalition aviation and support the expansion of coalition control within the valley. 2up Intent To consolidate coalition control of the Lythium Valley by denying Taliban forces the ability to contest air operations from the surrounding high ground, thereby enabling sustained patrols, raids, and freedom of manoeuvre for UNITAF forces across the area of operations. 1up Intent To eliminate Taliban anti-aircraft threats in the mountainous terrain overlooking the Lythium Valley in order to protect coalition aviation assets, maintain operational momentum, and support ongoing UNITAF ground operations within the valley.
End-state
All identified AAA sites are destroyed or rendered ineffective, coalition air operations can continue without interference from the surrounding high ground, and UNITAF patrols withdraw intact.
