Situation

Background Information
After setting up the Observation Point, part of the squad is conducting a patrol to check activity and get eyes on areas not visible from the OP. Please take note of the expectation of combat and RP. This operation is going to be predominantly patrolling and is built as a beginner mission for the FL. (There will be lots of walking. You have been warned.) Larger friendly forces in the region able to support but with 1 hour plus travel time. 3x 105mm artillery available for tasking via crossroads

Mission

Tasking
Conduct a presence patrol of the area overlooked by the forward observation base. Recon the POIs and act accordingly to any information or contact.

End-state
POI have been searched and the section are back at the observation point


Execution

Commander's Intent
The mission is intended to provide security to the Observation Post by patrolling the surrounding and checking unobserved areas and civilian housings for any activity.

Tasks and Sequencing
BUNKER 2 Section is to prepare equipment and weapons for departure on patrol. At STARTEX Section brief will be done and final preparations are done. At each Points Of Interest, a stop is to be made to look for movement or activity in the surroundings. Any activity or suspicious items near POIs or along the patrol route will be investigated before we resume the patrol. PHASE 1 BUNKER 2 will be moving along the marked route starting with POI HOTEL and POI GOLF to observe the southern valley. PHASE 2 BUNKER 2 will move into the northern valley, investigating in order POI FOXTROT, ECHO, DELTA, CHARLIE,BRAVO,ALPHA. Houses lacking civilian presence are to be entered and checked for weapon or ammunition stashes (singular weapons or individual quantity of ammo do not represent a stash) PHASE 3 BUNKER 2 will continue movement West into the forest then head to POI INDIA. Once reached, the Section will head back towards the Observation Post for ENDEX


Administration/Logistics

Resupply
- BUNKER 2 will depart fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission, without support.

Medical
- Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field)

Rules of Engagement
- CPERS are to be questioned on site to gauge need for further questioning.

Fire Support Plan
- 105mm artillery support available through NORTHSTAR
