Situation

Background Information
An American operative has been taken by Taliban insurgents within the valley. A series of safe houses and suspected enemy strongholds have been identified by intelligence agencies. Reaper Squad will conduct a series of night raids on suspected enemy safe houses, following intel gathered to hopefully rescue the HVT NIGHTHAWK 5 WILL BE IN A UH-60M Expected Level of Combat: ☆☆ (Combat will be isolated to small compounds with a handful of enemies at a time) Expected Level of RP: ☆☆ Expected Difficulty: ☆☆☆ Three-star rating: ☆ Little to none expected ☆☆ Decent amount expected ☆☆☆ Heavy emphasis / main focus of Operation This is predominantly a special forces mission. Because of this the mission may be not run the full 3 hours but alternatively the full 3 hours can be utilised if needed. Due to the nature of the mission it could be possible some players have minimal contact.

Friendly Forces
1x Special forces squad 1x Blackhawk helicopter with 2x side mounted mini gun turret. Fast rope capable

Supporting Assets
Significant friendly forces in the AO. However no assistance is expected will be from friendly forces due to the nature of mission.

Enemy Forces
Taliban insurgents. A QRF should be anticipated once word of the raids spreads. It is likely the Taliban will be intermixed with civilians. Locals in the AO are used to frequent low passing helicopters and patrols being dropped off by helicopter.


Mission

Tasking
Utilising a recent report of a Taliban safe house within the AO, REAPER 1 special forces squad is to conduct a surprise night raid on the suspected compound in search of any intelligence regarding the location of the captured American operative. A ransom demand for the hostage has been received, with the deadline set for sunrise. Due to the pressing time constraints, REAPER 1 is authorised to pursue any and all intelligence gathered in real time in order to locate and rescue the HVT. Due to the abrupt nature of this mission and interagency bureaucracy, information regarding the identity of the HVT remains limited. Further details are expected as the night progresses. Note from LGM: It is imperative that players remain alert for any form of intelligence and exercise caution when deploying lethal force, as intel may present itself in various ways. Part of this mission involves players piecing together a puzzle — if any intel or roleplay opportunities are missed, they will not be provided again. HVT rescue is not guaranteed and missions success will depend on player’s performance. Good luck, have fun.

End-state
End state will be either the successful rescue and exfil of HVT or sunrise and confirmation of HVTs death


Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is the locate and rescue the American operative held under Taliban capture. REAPER 1 Has been tasked to do fast paced door kicking of a suspected Taliban compound to locate and rescue the American operative before sun rise. REAPER 1 Must move with haste, precision, and restraint. In order to make the mission easier REAPER 1 will have to approach the Taliban with intent to extract information before resorting to lethal force.

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS After briefing will attend a mandatory mock run of the fast roping systems available to them on the UH-60M. Practice will ensure the usefulness of this tool in field, rather than a hindrance. PHASE 1 REAPER 1 Will be inserted via NIGHTHAWK 5 to the Suspected Taliban Compound, Northeast of Bala Murghab. Where they will start their search into finding the captive HVT. During the entirety of Operation Locksmith REAPER 1 are expected to fast mount and dismount from NIGHTHAWK 5 on different locations to surprise assault possible location the HVT could be held, also expect the squad to be in air in between raids to plan out the next approach. During the operation REAPER 1 must look out for documents, verbal communications, and Taliban movements in order to accumulate intel on the possible location of the HVT. PHASE 2 Once concrete intel has been gathered for the location of the HVT, REAPER 1 Will make a final calculated assault on the compound and rescue the HVT. PHASE 3 Once the HVT has been rescued from Taliban clutches, ALL CALLSIGNS must RTB post haste.


Administration/Logistics

Resupply
-ALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission. -Some supplies will be loaded into the UH-60M for light LOGPAK.

Medical
- Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) - Medical needs are to be done in flight while boarded on NIGHTHAWK 5, in order to save time and not linger.
