Situation
Background InformationEarlier this morning, a friendly AH-64 Apache was shot down. We have only a rough grid reference for the crash site, its exact location is still unclear. Al Qaeda fighters are already moving into the area and tightening their grip on the sector. The wreckage contains advanced systems and sensitive technology that cannot be allowed to fall into enemy hands. Supporting Assets
U.S. forces are positioned on the front line and ready to assist up to the forward edge of the battle area. 2 × AH-64 Apache attack helicopters are on standby for close air support and reconnaissance if the AO is confirmed clear of enemy AA.
Enemy Forces
Intelligence indicates a significant enemy presence in the vicinity of the suspected crash site. Al Qaeda fighters are actively tightening their control of the sector and may deploy technicals and other light vehicles to secure the area. Expect well-armed insurgents capable of rapid manoeuvre and ambush tactics.
Mission
TaskingLocate the downed AH-64 Apache and rescue any surviving pilots. Destroy the wreckage.
End-state
AH-64 Apache destroyed and pilots rescued
Execution
Commander's IntentIntent is to rescue the crew of the helicopter as well as deny the enemy from getting anything from the Apache
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will prepare combat load and get ready for brief. Note: Combat Engineers are to bring demolition blocks to blow up the apache and any stashes we find. PHASE 1 ALL CALLSIGNS will perform final checks and step off along Route Green to a US strongpoint and get briefed of the situation of the frontline. PHASE 2 Upon receiving intel BLACK squad will advance into the suspected crash-site area and start the search. If there is a smoke column, thats the target, if not BLACK will search the area from north to south along the roads. When the apache has been located, it will be rigged to blow. If the crew is still there we will treat them and RTB, if they're not, we will look for any clues for their current whereabouts and move to rescue them.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission, without support.

Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field)
