Situation

Background Information
We have lost communication with FOB Viper. The last transmission reported enemy forces massing in the AO. VENOM 1 is tasked with checking the status of the FOB, securing it, and eliminating the enemy before they reach full strength. CAS is on station and ready to assist. This is Vietnam, chaos is guaranteed, making it through on one life isn't! Phantom 5-2 F-4C Phantom With multiple pylon setups (Single crewed) Groundhog 1-2 Primary using UH-1C Iroquois Gunships (Rocket selection will vary) Note:AGM will be tasked with repairs,refuelling and rearming of aircraft. Mert is on standby for MASCAS and pilot recovery via CROSSROADS H Full medical facility is available for full heal at the airbase Artillary support via CROSSROADS H but VENOM 1 is last priorty

Enemy Forces
Mix of VC guerrilla tactics and assaults, and NVA with light armoured vehicles. Possibility of NVA air assaults. We are on the front line with the NVA.


Mission

Tasking
Secure FOB Viper. Recon the AO and eliminate the enemy encampment. Eliminate as much VC/PAVN in the AO Note:AO is marked with a black square on the map. Operations for this mission are permitted anywhere within his area.

End-state
FOB Viper secure. Enemy encampment found and eliminated


Execution

Commander's Intent
Intent is to ensure the safety of FOB Viper and eliminate all Hostile forces in the AO

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will prepare combat load and prepare for brief PHASE 1 VENOM 1-1 & 1-2 will mount up in GROUNDHOG 5 & 5-1 respectively and fly to FOB Viper. Upon arrival an orbit will be established in order to check the status of the FOB If the FOB is still under friendly control, we will land and dismount on a landing pad, before joining the fight against the enemy. If no eyes on friendly forces, a suitable LZ will be located and used to dismount, before clearing through FOB Viper and looking for any survivors. PHASE 2 Once FOB Viper has been secured, VENOM is to start movement west along the ridge and look for signs of any enemy camps. Once camps have been located we will strike with CAS before assaulting on foot.


Administration/Logistics

Resupply
VENOM will resupply through GROUNDHOG which will carry infantry supplies. GROUNDHOG and PHANTOM can RRR at the airbase.

Medical
VENOM 1-1 Combat Medic will be the most senior medic in the medical chain of command Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) The primary means of MEDEVAC is by AIR conducted by GROUNDHOG back to airbase.
