Friendly Forces
BAKER 1 Sniper Recon Section is deploying in the area
Supporting Assets
Friendly forces will continue to operate within friendly area. No friendlies are present within our designated AO. Due to unknown enemy AA capabilities and distance from friendly lines, any support requested will be delayed or unavailable. Civilians presence is possible, refugees hiding in woods or abandoned buildings can be encountered. Aid is to be rendered to civilians in need, there is also the possibility for them to have information about enemy in the area.
Enemy Forces
Enemy is composed of Infantry with Mechanized support (BTR and BMP). Enemy air capability is limited due to only one airfield remaining in their control. The enemy is known to establish camps and caches throughout the island along with heavier fortifications in key terrains. We are expecting them to have setup overwatch and anti air positions in the ridge line, those are to be eliminated directly or reported if unable to clear them.
Mission
TaskingGather information on any enemy forces or emplacements along the mountain range and the surrounding valleys. Take out of key targets identified (Anti-Air, Radar,HQ Installations) remains at the discretion of the leadership.
End-state
The element may return to a friendly base or establish a hide position in-field to conduct continuous information gathering.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to gather battlefield intelligence on several AO's for an assault by conventional forces to follow the next morning.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: Preparation - ALL CALLSIGNS complete final equipment checks and mission briefing in field. - ALL CALLSIGNS are outfitted with: -- Ghillie Suits -- An SPC with reduced profile -- Camo Cream -- Rifles, optics, and suppressors, as appropriate. - BAKER 1-1 is outfitted with an M200 Intervention for extended long range antipersonnel tasking. - BAKER 1-2 is outfitted with an M107 Barrett furnished with high explosive antimaterial ammunition. - Spotters & Marksmen will select a rifle to balance long range target assistance capabilities with close range security: -- M14 DMR -- M2010 ESR (Camo) -- Noreen "Bad News" ULR - ALL CALLSIGNS ensure adequate supplies on person to sustain operations without external logistic support.
Post-brief, ALL CALLSIGNS move for RP-1 with haste.
PHASE 1: Insertion
- Using the remaining cover of night, ALL CALLSIGNS move through RP-1 & RP-2 in expedited fashion.
-- Any passing opportunity to gather intelligence on AO #5 will be taken briefly.
Weapons status will remain red unless lifted by BAKER 1.
PHASE 2: Moderate-Priority Reconnaissance
- ALL CALLSIGNS maneuver to gather battlefield intelligence on AO #1 & AO #4.
-- RP-2A, RP-2B, and RP-3 will be utilized as permissible.
- Intelligence report criteria include:
1. Size of enemy force
2. Enemy force composition
3. Obstacles and defensive positions
4. AO mapping
5. Additional observations
- All information will be consolidated by BAKER 1 for relay.
- AO #1 & AO #4 are likely to pose only a moderate threat to the conventional forces to follow:
-- Allocated time must be conserved for later, priority objectives.
-- Shots will only be cleared in the case of extremely high valued targets.
Weapons status will remain red unless lifted by BAKER 1.
PHASE 3: Terrain Traversal
- ALL CALLSIGNS regroup and prepare for movement through increasingly exposed terrain.
- BAKER 1 utilizes reward defilade to access low-level wood lines.
-- Wood line concealment is exploited towards RP-4A & RP-4B, the final contiguous concealment available
Weapons status will remain red unless lifted by BAKER 1.
PHASE 4: High-Priority Reconnaissance
- ALL CALLSIGNS maneuver to gather battlefield intelligence on AO #2 & AO #3.
-- RP-4A & RP-4B will be used as permissible.

-- Shots will be cleared if reconnaissance is complete, and priority enemy assets are within equipment capabilities.
Weapons status will remain red unless lifted by BAKER 1.
PHASE 5: Further Reconnaissance
- Upon crossing Phase Line Alpha, freedom of movement is relinquished upon necessity of deliberate covering and bounding alongside a nearly complete absence of suitable concealment and proximity to enemy reinforcements.
