--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationExpected Level of Combat : ☆☆ Expected Level of RP: ☆ Expected Difficulty: ☆☆ Three-star rating: ☆ little to none expected ☆☆ decent amount expected ☆☆☆ Heavy emphasis / main focus of Operation The antennas in the valley have failed and we have lost radio communication to HQ. Our signal squad has been dispatched to investigate and repair the comms equipment. We have just heard back on short-range that they have found traces of sabotage, and sent a contact report. GUARDIAN 3 will consist of one BRDM and two BTR-80
Friendly Forces
SPIRIT Mechanised Infantry platoon with integrated GUARDIAN armored support. The platoon is reduced to allow for detached elements to operate through the valley.
Supporting Assets
Our signal squad has been dispatched 1 hour ago to check the radio antennas north of base. They have entered contact with enemy infantry and requesting support. SPIRIT The platoon has been reduced to provide security detachments that will be setting up checkpoints along the valley. those elements will be effective between 00:40 and 01:00 after STARTEX. Remaining elements will be remaining on alert for base security.
Enemy Forces
OPFOR is likely to be one of the ultra-nationalist groups active in the region. Information from signal squad confirms their use of small arms and grenades. Intel about those groups suggest they may also have access to some heavier weapons such as HMGs and Rocket Launchers.
Mission
TaskingSPIRIT is to act as QRF to the signal squad, helping secure casualties for evacuation. Once the squad is safe, investigate to the designated radio antennas to check for any other presence or sabotage.
End-state
SPIRIT is to regroup in the valley near one of the security elements on mission complete or if unable to continue the mission.
Execution
Commander's IntentThis mission's purpose is to first extract the signal squad in contact. The remainder of the mission is dedicated to ensuring no further sabotage has taken place and to dispatch insurgent forces along the way.
Tasks and Sequencing
STAGING SPIRIT platoon prepares for a mechanised departure from base camp. Mounting order: SPIRIT 9 → Guardian 3 SPIRIT 1 → GUARDIAN 3-1 SPIRIT 2 → GUARDIAN 3-2 Convoy order: Guardian 3-1 – Guardian 3 – Guardian 3-2 Default travel formation: Closed column, 50-50. ACTIONS ON The route leads through treacherous, mountainous terrain along winding, hard-to-secure and narrow roads. The whole route is single-option canalising ground. Exercise caution. ROADBLOCK: Dismount at safe distance. Lead squad secures blocking danger area. Rear squad secures immediate vicinity with 5&25 scan, sets up at suitable vantage point as required. Platoon removes or circumnavigates blockage as required. BRIDGE: As ROADBLOCK, but rear squad crosses bridge first, secures far side. Convoy crosses one by one. Infantry remounts on the other side. TALL CREST: Dismount before cresting. Lead squad peeks the crest for danger to relay contact report if required. Rear squad secures convoy with 5&25 scan. AMBUSH: PUSH THROUGH CONTACT: PUSH THROUGH DISABLED VEHICLE: COIL around affected vehicle. Infantry dismount to secure danger area OR assault through if ambushed. RADIO TOWERS Radio tower investigations labelled Alpha, Bravo, Charlie are conducted as a movement to contact. Assume all radio towers are occupied danger areas. Infantry dismounts 200-400 metres away from each tower in suitable cover or vantage. Vehicles support by fire.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyAll GCE resupply from vehicle inventory. Squad leaders must ensure adequate sustainment is brought along. Resupply will be facilitated as required, e.g. on the way to each radio tower. Security detachments set up along the valley will be able to provide limited supplies for infantry and vehicles. One spare BTR-80 remains at base camp, to be called to one of the checkpoints with minimal lead time.
