--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationBotswana has suddenly erupted in a civil war, with the government being attacked by a alliance of national and religious militias seeking to overthrow the government. US forces stationed in the region are being activated to quickly respond after a call for assistance from the Botswanian government. Newly formed Lightning Task Force is tasked to move into alliance controlled territory and cut off one of the main path towards Gaborone, limiting the support to their frontline troops and disrupting their hasty advance to Botswana's capital. With the established Forward Operating Base, HITMAN Recon Platoon will be the first element to step of from the position and start disruption of the alliance movement's. An AC-130J is tasked to support them in eliminating any forces that try to cross the chokepoint.
Friendly Forces
HITMAN Recon Platoon mounted in 5x Humvees with LRAS3 Airwing : NIGHTLOCK 5 AC-130U 'Spooky' in direct support through the operation LIGHTNING 4-3 Air mobility crew, fielding C-17 or C-130 for troop and equipment Support elements : LIGHTNING 4 Support Section fielding FOB GUARDIAN to provide rear echelon support LIGHTNING 4-1 Close Support Team in direct support to HITMAN Recon Platoon LIGHTNING 4-2 Airlift crew, in direct support of LIGHTNING 4-3 for personnel and material handling
Supporting Assets
Airfield Aeden is controlled by friendly forces, providing security and acting as the main supply base for the operation. We have been granted exclusive use of the runway for the duration of the operation. FOB GUARDIAN is the only position available for ground forces.
Enemy Forces
Alliance forces field a mix of equipment o fmostly Soviet and Russian origin. The area of operation is mainly used as a transit area without any substantial bases. Aerial and satellite imagery suggest the presence of designated stop or refueling posts along the corridor. Vehicle also seem to only be on the move during daytime. We are expecting a continuous influx of light vehicles, AFV and MBTs. The enemy alliance does not have access to MADPADs but is known to have a limited amount of SPAA, those are the highest priority target to ensure continued air support.
Mission
TaskingHITMAN Cut off the Alliance corridor and neutralise any forces trying to cross the Dariyah mountain range. Additionally, destroy or capture any position supporting the movement of Alliance forces across the region. LIGHTNING Continue airlift operations at FOB GAURDIAN Assist HITMAN operations
End-state
Mission is considered complete after Alliance forces stop attempts to cross the mountain ridge. HITMAN Recon Platoon is to remain in blocking position until relieved by friendly forces. In case of overwhelming forces, HITMAN Platoon is to fallback to FOB GUARDIAN , preparing for an evacuation of all personnel (primary) and equipment (secondary). Evacuation is to be conducted if FOB GUARDIAN cannot be defended.
Execution
Commander's IntentHitman Platoon are tasked with securing the alliance corridor, we will move through sectors Bravo through Echo while Nightlock eliminates targets in sectors Alpha and Foxtrot. The desired endstate will be full control over the alliance corridor to prevent troops from moving to the east.
Tasks and Sequencing
Infantry: HITMAN Platoon will depart the STARTEX airfield and para drop into DZ Birdcage where the transport humvees will be waiting. After para dropping in we will RV at FUP Castle before following the marked route to DP Knight where we will dismount and move on foot to OP Barricade. After briefly reconning the sectors Bravo and Charlie the platoon will begin our movement. HITMAN 1 will remain on the north of the corridor and HITMAN 2 will cross the corridor and remain on the south side for the duration of the op. the 2 Squads will move in parallel through each sector clearing any encampments or advancing enemy forces. AT teams are to prioritise MBT's and SPAA/SAM Sites. Nightlock: FAC will coordinate your movement and responsibilities. LIGHTNING 4: LSC to co-ordinate your responsibilities. Should HITMAN Platoon encounter overwhelming enemy forces we are to fall back to FOB guardian (Obj Bravo) where we will be evacuated.
