--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationIn preparation for the siege on Kalae Noowi, a Rangers SF detachment assembles out of Phantom Company's position at COP Raven for a night raid on key military targets near the city, such as artillery and Anti-Air. The garrison commander is expected to be present within our AO and a kill/capture tasking has been placed on them.
Friendly Forces
SF Ranger squad consisting of 3 separate teams
Supporting Assets
Callsign Thunder creating distraction and drawing all attention along the AO. There is a Friendly Safe House in the AO, however, only approach if unit is undetected.
Enemy Forces
Low amount of patrols in the mountainside without NVG capabilities. Mechanized Infantry garrisoned in the Airfield. This is the enemy's last major population centre. Expect heavy resistance as soon as element is in combat. If compromised, disengaging and withdrawing is highly advised, as friendly support is impossible and the element will be in danger of being overrun.
Mission
TaskingInfiltrate behind enemy lines, proceed to approach the enemy Airfield, then destroy as many assets as possible to assist in our main attack on the town. Once the element of surprise is gone, immediately withdraw and RTB.
End-state
Mission Success: No specific win condition for this operation, the more chaos and destruction friendly elements can create, the easier the main attack is going to be. Mission Failure: Friendly elements unable to RTB.
Execution
Commander's IntentOur intent is to cause chaos.
Tasks and Sequencing
We have a list of key targets we have deemed will cause the greatest impact on enemy garrison force capability and morale for the upcoming siege of objective royal - the urban zone of kalaenoowi and the attached military infrastructure and facilities. Teams Alpha, Bravo and Charlie will all depart from COP Raven by helicopter. We will make use of a helicopter route advised by our HQ team which has had decoy helicopter activity mounting over the past couple of days, and which allows a route through known enemy locations taking advantage of gaps in their cover. A friendly element designated Thunder will also be conducting a diversionary assault on IS forces spread out to the West and North-West of Objective Royal. Once on the ground, all teams will advance to clear out the closest enemy lookout position and begin recce of the AO below. We will attempt to maintain cover of stealth as long as is feasible to enable us to hit more key targets. Once we are compromised, enemy forces in the barracks and city will start to assemble against us. We will intend on breaking contact if we are compromised, moving West or North out of the AO to extract via helicopter. If we have hampered the enemy AA platforms well enough we may be able to call extract in the direction of the south-west side of the AO. I have a list of targets I consider to be preferable, but as noted by HQ any amount of disruption to enemy forces will be helpful in the coming siege. As Recce results will readily regulate our route through the rear of our rival's resistance, I will simply list my preferred targets below. Preferable/ Primary targets: - HVT KING: Enemy garrison commander, now defaulted to leader of IS forces in the region. Kill/Capture. - AA1 and AA2: The most effective enemy Anti-Air platforms. - Artillery 1 or 2 - Vic Depot
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyCombat load will be our supply for the mission. If we hit excessive resistance and are unable to break contact, acquisition of useful assets from our enemies will be authorised by Field Leader.
