--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationCIA assets have made contact with Yemen Freedom Fighters (YFF), who where previously fighting NE of our assigned AO, they are planning to take over a vital supply route that would help them control the mountain region EAST of KalaeNoowi and disrupt the supply route for the IS forces operating NE of COP Raven. Some preliminary intel on enemy positions has been provided by the YFF, enemy positions are still relatively unknown however. To execute their plan the YFF requires our help since the route is heavily fortified along the ridgelines with bunker positions, short range AA and AT guns. A Ranger squad with an attached FO will be dropped in via HALO and meet up with the YFF Chief, intel on enemy positions provided by the Chief will be used to provide artillery support.
Friendly Forces
C-130 UH-60M Blackhawk 3x M270
Supporting Assets
Yemen Freedom Fighters which will be doing most of the clearing out of enemy forces, their force composition will mostly be infantry with support light vehicles such as technicals and APC/IFVS.
Enemy Forces
IS entrenched (bunker) positions with MGs, AT guns, short range AA (ZU-23/IGLA and technicals. QRF is expected to arrive from the west, consisting of technicals, APC/IFVs and MBTs. MI-8 gunships have been sighted on the KalaeNoowi airstrip, however it is currently unknown if they are willing to commit to this AO.
Mission
TaskingProvide artillery support to the YFF.
End-state
After sufficient enemy (AA) positions have been knocked out for the YFF to break through, exfil via air to Kinduf airbase. If there is to much AA still present, the Ranger element will endex with the YFF until safe exfil is an option.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of the mission is to support Freedom Fighters as they push IS out of the operational area, using Artillery.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0
GUARDIAN 1 will mount up in friendly aircraft and prepare an airborne paradrop over DZ BONANZA. From there they will rendevouz with the Freedom Fighter Chieftain at the YFF RP.
PHASE 1
BLUFOR will move through the mountains from OP to OP, getting eyes on checkpoints and calling them in for ARCHER 4-1 to eliminate. After bombardment, YFF forces will assault each checkpoint/HQ, while GUARDIAN 1 supports.
GUARDIAN 1 should expect IS to identify us as spotters for the artillery, and attempt some disruption.
OPFOR are expected to have bunker positions covering the road used by YFF, and we should identify and eliminate these as we encounter them.
PHASE 2
Sees the same as Phase 1, but with the need to identify the position of, and ensure elimination of, an OPFOR HQ in the area. This will again be done through artillery and YFF, with GUARDIAN 1 in support.
ENDEX once AO is clear of IS forces.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyALL CALLSIGNS will cross the LD fully loaded according to the units SOP. These supplies will come from the staging area. This basic load is expected to sustain the team throughout the mission, without support.
