--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
The Russian military has staged a coup in the Democratic Republic of Sahrani (DRS), replacing the democratically elected government with a puppet regime called the Sahrani Military Junta (SMJ). They have deployed Russian personnel and ballistic missiles on the island, posing a significant threat. Diplomatic efforts and sanctions have failed, and the United States cannot tolerate this situation any longer. Our mission is to secure the small peninsula and block the land bridge between the two sides. We will capture the town of Corazol, dismantling its defenses and regaining control. Our forces, including an airborne assault (Callsign Viper / UH-1Ys) and an amphibious assault (Callsign Viking / AAVP-7A1), will execute a diversionary enveloped attack in support of the main ground combat element. The task force, led by Callsign Vanguard, will be deployed off the coast of Sahrani by a US Navy carrier strike group. Medical emergency response teams (Callsign Vixen 5-1) and airborne logistics (Callsign Vixen 5-2) will provide support from the carrier strike group. Our objective is to secure Corazol and neutralize its defenses. The USMC's diversionary attack will be conducted as a dawn raid with low visibility, increasing our chances of mission success.

Friendly Forces
Vanguard company -Viking Platoon (Amphibious) -2x AAVP7/A1 -Viper Platoon (Airborne) -2x UH-1Y -Vixen Supporting Element -1x UH-1Y MEV -1x CH-53E

Supporting Assets
US forces already stationed to the South and West of Corazol are standing by to conduct an attack on the defensive lines.

Enemy Forces
The Sahranian army is using Russian equipment. They are well dug in and expecting an attack on the defensive line any day now and are aware of the presence of US forces to their South-west. Having focused the majority of their defence on the west of Corazol, they appear not to be well prepared for attacks from the rear.

Mission

Tasking
Vanguard will depart from the USS Wasp to conduct an Air and Sea attack on Corazol. The aim is to bypass the defensive lines set up by the Sahranian army to counter the main US offensive and capture vital infrastructure within the city. Depending on the reaction of the Sahranian army, we will then either attack the defensive line using a deep envelopment or pivot North to prevent any reinforcements.

End-state
Corazol captured and held.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to unseat the SMJ forces from the fortified town of Corazol in order to secure a land bridge between the the islands. Initially ground commanders opted for a frontal attack, but the heavily entrenched SMJ forces proved difficult to unseat without unacceptable losses. Therefore we have been tasked to infiltrate behind enemy lines to the east of Corazel in the early hours of this morning in order to neutralise enemy fire support positions being used to hamper our efforts in the west and secondly to perform a deep envelopment which will see us attacking SMJ forces from the rear of their defensive positions as they have heavily focussed on reinforcing the western outskirts, until such time as we meet friendly forces dug in to the West. In the likely event SMJ forces reinforce from outside Corazol and from the East, our air support assets and reconnaissance will swiftly deal with targets once we have successfully neutralised their main anti-air threat. All other enemy forces will be forced to fight or retreat West, at this point we should have them surrounded for a final showdown in Western Corazol. My intent will be to minimize damage to Corazol proper in order that we can use it as a secure land bridge in the latter weeks of this deployment. While civilian presence is unlikely it is possible.
