Situation

Background Information
THIS IS A MEDICAL CSIP TEST - WE WILL USE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND SYSTEMS THAN ORDINARY. THERE WILL ALSO BE A MANDATORY PERIOD OF TRAINING ON KAT BEFORE THE FORMAL BRIEFING AND STARTEX. A section-sized reconnaissance patrol has reported that they have taken fire from unknown hostiles, assumed to be rebel forces moving northwards to the capital, a short way east of Chongo. The mechanised platoon stationed at Patrol Base Meerkat is ordered to meet and reinforce the patrol as soon as possible, dealing with any other hostiles they encounter to discourage them from moving further north and crossing Line Black.

Friendly Forces
1 x Mechanised Infantry Platoon (2 squads) in Marshall APCs with attached CMT unit 1 x Motorised Infantry Recon Patrol, nominally in two Polaris DAGORs

Supporting Assets
Local government forces are based at Chongo. We are working to contact them, but they have their own command and control so this may take some time. A NATO logistical support unit and the rest of the mechanised infantry company is located at Patrol Base Meerkat.

Enemy Forces
Organised rebel forces, predominantly infantry. May be supported by some vehicles. Intel suggests some supply of CSAT equipment and possible training to rebels recently, which may include light armoured vehicles. If the ambush on the recon patrol is more than an opportunistic one, this may be a concerted push by rebel forces towards the north. They have been warned that attempts to cross the river demarcated by Line Black will be met with force, but continue to insist that they are the will of the people and have a responsibility to depose the incumbent government, located at the capital to the north. Recent weeks have seen increasingly bold threats and rebel movement northwards, although this movement has not been accurately tracked. The potential fighting strength of the rebels is unclear, but seems to be growing.

Mission

Tasking
Primary: Ensure survival of recon patrol. Secondary: Prevent rebel forces in the area from pushing north towards Line Black. Tertiary: Make contact with local government forces if needed.

End-state
Recon patrol retrieved and medically stabilised if necessary. Rebel ambushers and other forces in the area dealt with and pushed back south.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
CALLS FOR RESUPPLY AND REPAIR FOR VEHICLES IS TO BE COORDINATED WITH PLATOON SERGEANT ON FREQUENCY 41MHZ. NO FRIENDLY EQUIPMENT SHOULD FALL INTO ENEMY CONTROL. IF THIS BECOMES A PROBABILITY, EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE SOUGHT DESTROYED.

Medical
NOTE: PLATOON MEDIC WILL BE LOCATED WITH BRAVO AT THE START OF THE OPERATION. FOXTROT WILL BE TOGETHER WITH ALPHA. NO OTHER MEDICAL SUPPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE. PAKS WILL BE COORDINATED WITH FOXTROT AT DESIGNATED CCPS. SERIOUS CASUALTIES SHOULD BE BROUGHT BACK TO THE OPERATIONAL CCP IN COORDINATION WITH FOXTROT.

EPWS WILL BE TURNED OVER TO ALPHA 8 FOR DEBRIEF.
