--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationA U.S Army infantry platoon assisted by close air support and Bundeswehr forces prepares to break the Soviet stalemate in southern Rosche.
Friendly Forces
Infantry Platoon "Echo": 1 x HQ element 2 x Rifle Squads 1 x Weapons Squad Army Aviation Wing: 1 x AH-1S Cobra
Supporting Assets
Bundeswehr forces will be conducting a large scale assault through Soviet lines in Southern Rosche.
Enemy Forces
Soviet motor-rifle brigades are stationed across the frontline, supported by artillery batteries, heavy armour platoons and air assault wings. Once the Bundeswehr begin their assault on Southern Rosche, the enemy will likely divert their forces towards the Southern front.
Mission
TaskingClear out the Soviet forces in and around Hanstedt and neutralise any counterattacking forces.
End-state
The capture of the Hanstedt and Rassau, as well as the dispositioning of Soviet forces by defeating any counterattacks. In the event of mission failure, all friendly units should attempt to regroup at Ratzlingen.
Execution
Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to relieve pressure off the Bundeswehr forces breaking through Soviet lines in Southern Rosche, and to neutralise the local enemy garrisons, thus preventing them from disrupting friendly supply lines in and around Ratzlingen and Tatern.
Tasks and Sequencing
STAGING: ALL CALLSIGNS will carry out final equipment and readiness checks and then assemble at RP-0 for briefing. PHASE 1: ECHO PLATOON will travel South-East on foot towards WP-1 from RP-0. Holding on the edge of the treeline and scouting for enemy patrols and positions before commencing the assault on OBJ HOOK. Upon instruction from the field leader, all Echo callsigns will begin assaulting through OBJ HOOK in the following sequence: ECHO 1 will clear sectors A1 - A2 - A5. Guarding the Eastern approach once complete. ECHO 2 will clear sectors A1 - A3 - A4. Regrouping at WP-2 once complete. ECHO 3 will clear sector A1 and then set up a base of fire position at BOF-1, engaging enemy units being dispatched from Hanstedt and preventing reinforcement. Upon clearing all sectors and neutralising the anti-air threat, ECHO 1 and 2 shall converge near WP-2 in preparation for the next phase. PHASE 2: The assault on OBJ LINE will be carried out in the following sequence: ECHO 1 will clear sectors B1 - B4 - B5 - B6 and assaulting B8 only if contact is received from that position. ECHO 2 will clear sectors B2 - B3 - B7 and will then hold position. ECHO 3 will remain positioned at BOF-1 until ECHO 1 and 2 have cleared sector B1. Once sector B1 has been cleared, ECHO 3 will proceed to BOF-2 and guard the Eastern MSR approach into Hanstedt as this will be the likely avenue of enemy reinforcement. Upon clearing all sectors within Hanstedt, ECHO 1 and ECHO 2 shall converge on LRP HOTEL and will resupply on the friendly sustainment trucks sent in from Ratzlingen. After Echo 1 and 2 have resupplied, they will move to and relieve ECHO 3 at BOF-2 so that they may also resupply. Once all elements are resupplied, the next phase will commence. PHASE 3: ECHO PLATOON will move North-East towards WP-2 and then divert East towards WP-3. Upon reaching WP-3, all echo elements will assault OBJ SINKER in the following sequence: ECHO 1 will clear sectors C2 and C4 and then entrench their positions at BOF-3. Guarding the North-East approach into Rassau. ECHO 2 will clear sectors C1 and C3 and then entrench their positions at BOF-4. Guarding their East. ECHO 3 will move with and support Echo 2 directly as they clear through their sectors. ECHO 3 will then establish themselves at BOF-5. Guarding the South-East ASR and the Eastern MSR approach. After all sectors have been cleared and any counterattacking forces have been neutralised or routed, all friendly units will converge in the centre of Rassau for in-field debriefing.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyEcho Company's sustainment units are preoccupied assisting the friendly forces defending the town of Ratzlingen from Soviet forces to their East, for this reason, no on-call logistical support will be available during this deployment until the town of Hanstedt has been cleared of all enemy forces. Upon clearing Hanstedt, Echo company will be able to dispatch a convoy of sustainment trucks to LRP HOTEL from Ratzlingen, this will be the only chance elements will get to resupply during the operation. Leadership elements should ensure that their teams depart from the staging area with adequate supplies.
Medical
In the event of severe MASCAS of friendly units, emergency CASEVAC may be requested from medical units stationed in Ratzlingen, however they may take some time to reach the site. Adequately protected casualty collection points should be arranged and coordinated with the most senior leadership element.
