--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---
Situation
Background InformationA British Army paratrooper platoon continues in their efforts to open a new front deep behind the main enemy force. Outnumbered and outgunned, they must push back towards friendly units for relief whilst destroying their primary target. Two FV107 Scimitars and one FV101 Scorpion are to be inserted via C-130 to support with the platoon's attack on the nearby town of Testorf which is being used to garrison active Soviet artillery that has been harassing friendly positions.
Friendly Forces
Ground Combat Element: - [1x] Paratrooper Platoon - [2x] FV107 Scimitar - [1x] FV101 Scorpion
Supporting Assets
An armored quick-reaction-force has been assembled on main enemy front to breakthrough their defenses and reinforce our platoon once we have completed our final objective.
Enemy Forces
Although the majority of the Soviet counterattack was repelled by our platoon, many entrenched enemy forces remain in the region. They are likely to attempt further, smaller-scale attacks, predominantly utilizing APCs and IFVs.
Mission
Tasking1) Repel any enemy counterattacks in order to hold the ground taken. 2) Attack and destroy the enemy artillery garrison at Testorf.
End-state
1) Testorf is captured and held with the enemy artillery destroyed. 2) Friendly units are entrenched awaiting relief from friendly forces and repelling any enemy counterattacks.
Execution
Commander's IntentMy intent is, to clear the AO of Soviet AA threats in a first phase, which will allow our ROOK callsign to be paradropped in, who among sporting massive firepower, are also our only way to resupply during this Operation. After this objective is completed, Bishop will advance towards the town of Testorf, clearing any obstructions on the way. While it is not entirely clear where the Enemy has positioned their Artillery pieces in town, we must find and take them out of commission as early as possible to allow the Armored force to start their advance from the West. Should we be unable to achieve this task, it is likely the enemy's numbers will overwhelm us quickly without support.
Tasks and Sequencing
Phase 0: After our daring paradrop into Probien and Schwemlitz and reorganising our troops, our main objective now is to destroy the enemy Air defenses and Artillery positions to allow our other troops to move in safely. We must avoid detection of our starting point by all means, so keep your heads low. Phase 1: Our Troops on security during the reorganisation spotted enemy Infantry and some vehicles moving into the previously emptied FOB and Checkpoint a few hundred metres West from our current location.
Bishop 1 and Bishop 2 are tasked with clearing the FOB once more, while Bishop 3 assaults the Outpost.
After these locations have been retaken, Bishop 2 is tasked with taking and holding the eastern tip of the town of Bruchwedel to allow Bishop 1 and Bishop 3 to assault the Position of the Radar AA.
Only once the AA has been taken out can Rook be paradropped in at the designated zone, coordinated by Platoon HQ.
Now Reinforced, all Bishop Callsigns, supported by Rook will collapse on Bruchwedel, should there even be anything left.
Phase 2:
With swathes of open field in our second phase, it is up to the Squad Leaders to use the microterrain to their advantage.
Bishop 2 and Bishop 3 will cojoin and take on the Camp and Checkpoint together, while Bishop 1 draws the enemy's fire at the defenses, which have been hastily built during our reorganisation. Should Bishop 1 be able to assault the defenses themselves, they are free to do so.
Phase 3:
The final Phase of our operation is in finding and destroying the Artillery installations in the town of Testorf. since our primary objective is the destruction of the Artillery, we will clear buildings only as necessary, and then after the primary OBJ is completed.
After we have achieved our primary Objective, we are tasked with holding a bridgehead in Testorf around Sector 3 and Sector 4 to allow our Armored forces to roll in.
