Operation Polaris (2039), Phoenix (Part 2)

Situation

Background Information
UNITAF is tasked with with taking a foothold onto Altis after an SF raid was sent out earlier in the morning to take out ANTI-NAVAL COASTAL DEFENCES and radar stations.

Friendly Forces
1x airborne infantry company with logistics and medical support

Enemy Forces
OPFOR are predominantly deployed to the west near the capital of Kavala, now that the SF raid has taken place it's reasonable to assume that they have started to realise we're not hitting there but the garrison of the area is primarily infantry and light vehicles who had been primarily tasked with keeping the population in line. Heavier assets might arrive later but initially only infantry and light vehicles. Enemy tactics are likely to focus on delaying you establishing a foothold until forces can be redeployed from the west.

Mission

Tasking
The unit is tasked with establishing a foothold centred around FOB Aries which will allow us access to an airstrip to bring in further assets and start striking inland.

End-state
Desired end state FOB Aries or objective CASTOR, depending on enemy presence.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of the mission is to get a foothold on Altis with minimal collateral damage and infrastructure damage.

Tasks and Sequencing
Insert Phase PHOENIX, HAWK and EAGLE will be transported by blackfish to LZ Pegasus. On landing; - EAGLE will secure the SW side of the LZ, keeping in mind, at least 1 enemy platoon is located to the south on objective Pegasus. - HAWK will secure the NE side of the LZ. Sector 1 Once the LZ is secured, EAGLE and HAWK will move to their respective APs and secure objective Aquila(EAGLE ) and Bellatrix(HAWK). After EAGLE and HAWK have secured their objective they will move to secure FOB Aries, either platoon does not have to wait continue into FOB Aries, to be coordinated in the field depending on clearing speed for each platoon. Sector 1 resupply After Sector 1 has been secured EAGLE and HAWK will regroup in FOB Aries for a planned resupply in FOB Aries provided by BADGER. Sector 1 to 2 movement After resupplying at FOB Aries EAGLE and HAWK will move to their respective AP2, OPFOR QRF expected during this movement. Sector 2 Once each platoon has reached their AP2, both platoons will secure the objective COSTAR in sync.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
BADGER will setup a LRP at LZ Pegasus, after it has been secured by EAGLE and HAWK.

Medical
FOX will be provided a polaris jeep by BADGER once the LRP is set up.

Rules of Engagement
EPWS to be handed over to PHOENIX, BADGER or FOX for exfil to the rear.

Fire Support Plan
Naval gunfire on standby in case of emergency only.
