--- OPERATIONS ORDER ---

Situation

Background Information
A British Army paratrooper platoon conducts a daring assault deep behind enemy lines in order to disrupt Soviet assets and to establish a new front in the north-eastern region of Rosche.

Friendly Forces
UNITS: 1x Platoon HQ BISHOP 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 3x Rifle Sections BISHOP 1, 2, 3 1x Mortar Section BISHOP 4 2x Fixed-Wing CAS/CAP PHANTOM

Supporting Assets
Four CH-47 Chinooks will be used to conduct the paradrop and resupply the platoon via airdrops when able.

Enemy Forces
Most enemy troops and armour is dedicated to the frontline therefore we are expecting reduced but entrenched forces who will attempt to hold their position at all costs, although they are not expecting us.

Mission

Tasking
1) Conduct a successful paradrop in the designated AO. 2) Assault and destroy enemy defensive positions (Sheffield, Essex, London, Manchester and Liverpool). 3) Withdraw into the woodland and dig in to await further support.

End-state
1) All designated enemy positions and support destroyed. 2) All friendly units withdrawn to safe harbour.

Execution

Commander's Intent
The purpose of this mission is to insert behind enemy lines at dawn and conduct a surprise raid on enemy support positions behind the frontline disrupting enemy support and providing a avenue for further operations. ABOVE: Dawn at Camp Carpenter

Tasks and Sequencing
Infiltration Plan - Preparation After the briefing from the PltCo, elements will line up at the rear of their assigned airframe at the staging position, each of the chinooks has a designated jumpmaster who will ensure each person has been assigned a jump number. The order of elements and airframe assignments is listed below. BISHOP 1, BISHOP 3, BISHOP 9, BISHOP 8, BISHOP 6 mount Chinook 1 (the most northern airframe) BISHOP 4, BISHOP 2, BISHOP 5, BISHOP 7 mount Chinook 2 (the most southern airframe) The jumpmaster for Chinook 1 will be Maj James, PltCo (BISHOP 9) The jumpmaster for Chinook 2 will be SP3 Jochem, JFO (BISHOP 7) Personnel will mount the airframes after being checked with a parachute and assigned a jump number by the jumpmaster. Infiltration Plan - Jump execution Chinook 1 and Chinook 2 will fly in formation, west to east over the drop zone (marked with the green line on the above map). En-route, jumpmasters will check the readiness of all jumpers as they hook up and stand up indicating the readiness to the aircrew. As the jump begins, the jumpmasters will call numbers to jump in the order assigned to ensure elements land in correct areas of the DZ, once all jumpers have exited the airframe, the airframes will loop back over the DZ in order for the jumpmaster team and any stragglers to jump. Airframes will then exit the AO to the west. On landing ALL ELEMENTS should roll up sticks, those jumping first should move EAST toward the center and those jumping last should move WEST, once the stick has been rolled, ALL ELEMENTS should proceed to rendezvous positions to commence the assault as detailed; RV1 - BISHOP 1 and BISHOP 4 RV2 - BISHOP 2 and COMMAND (BISHOPS 5-9) RV3 - BISHOP 3 Assault Plan - Sheffield From rendezvous positions BISHOP 1 will setup BOF at AP1 BISHOP 2 to assault west side via AP2 BISHOP 3 to assault east flank via AP3 Onward Assault Plan For successive objectives London, Essex, Manchester and Liverpool BISHOP CALLSIGNS will continue to remain in formation unless otherwise assigned, and standard assault procedures will continue in coordination with pre-assigned assault points, subject to change due to changes in METT-TC. Civilian presence is possible in London and Liverpool, so elements must act accordingly. Our mission does not require us to clear all buildings, however elements should ensure all our positions are secure. As Essex is a military objective BISHOP 4 should be prepared to level it on command. Enemy assets, depots and vehicles The platoons sapper BISHOP 5 should be made aware of any enemy assets, depots or vehicles through all positions so that charges can be set and detonated by trailing elements to ensure that our assault is effective in disrupting enemy supply lines.

Administration/Logistics

Resupply
Upon request of Bishop 9, resupply will be conducted by Crossroads via CH-47 paradrop the first planned LOGPAK shall be after the capture of London.

Medical
Personal Aid Kits (PAKs) will be administered in the field when needed by medical personnel, no evacuation is possible.

Rules of Engagement
Due to the nature of our mission, it is unlikely that we will be able to take any POWs. If any enemy personnel should be captured, we should either release them when safe to do so, or leave them to be found by the rest of their forces.

Fire Support Plan
Mortars provided by BISHOP 4 will remain close to the formation and will be able, at short notice to provide indirect fire as authorised by the FSC and JFO on military objectives and away from built up areas. It is vital that all elements update their positions at regular intervals to avoid friendly fire. BISHOP 4 shall be utilised to clear large sections of forest of enemy presence in successive objectives.

Close Air Support
Close air support provided by PHANTOM a flight of Phantoms in dual role will be authorised by the Platoon Joint Fires Observer and utilised for dealing with enemy forces responding to our attack and other identified positions, while Command does not expect the presence of enemy armor units due to the suprise nature of the operation, PHANTOM shall be our insurance policy.
