Commanding Officer
UNITAF

Deadline: Wednesday June 18th, 2025

What is Summer Selection?

UNITAF's Organisational Chain of Command (ORGCOC) is re-appointed every six months. The ORGCOC is crucial in managing UNITAF's day-to-day operations, composed of NCOs and Officers dedicated to executing the overall strategy and direction of the unit as defined by Central Command.

As we now approach the summer term, we invite both existing and new members to engage with the process and contribute to our ongoing success. If you want to support and influence the future development of UNITAF, this is your chance!

How is the ORGCOC performing?

The focus of the ORGCOC since the last selection has been on FTS, deployment frequency and the onboarding of newer members.

Due to limitations in the FTS2.0, James and TC have been hard at work at defining and implementing an update  to the training system that reduces the overall burden for both players and instructors. Through the new system, we will see that skill levels are approximated to a larger extent than before, ensuring that overall skill development does not require direct intervention by instructors. At the same time, some corrective powers (both positive and negative) will be given the instructors, ensuring that the approximation will not veer too much from observed skill levels. More details on this will be published in due time.

Since the last selection, we have seen a few movements in Operations Command. Crucially, 2Lt SkullCollector has recently assumed the position of Operations Officer, and has already made strides to ensure that the calendar is filled with missions. This is already bearing fruit, with more operations scheduled and planned than in a very long time. This includes the anniversary week, which is looking to become a week full of various activities. OC and TC have also recently discussed the possibility of establishing a more defined mentorship programme for budding GMs and FLs. The discussions on how this would work is still in early phases, but expect to see some movements on this after field leadership and mission support are transferred to FTS3 and the training teams for these have been established.

It continues to be important for the unit leadership to hear from the community on key matters. For that reason, I am aware that Operations Command is planning to make more structured use of the frontlines feedback channel. Look out for polls in the near future! If there are other things you think the unit should be aware of, or changes or problems you would like to discuss, then do not forget that we have dedicated channels where these can be discussed as well as a roadmap tool to track suggestions, bugs, issues and developments.

How to declare my interest?

Interested persons should directly contact the responsible officer for each command (recommended method is Discord Direct Message):

  • Personnel Command: 2Lt Aiedail (PC)

  • J10: LtCol James (CC)

When is the deadline?

The deadline for indicating interest in positions or command changes is

for Wednesday June 18th, 2025 and the selection will take place from this date until the term starts on Sunday July 1st 2024.
